The Shalak brand was conceived in 1983 when 4 young cousins began to torment and insult the 5th and youngest cousin. Shalak became the word used to deliver the insult. By the age of three Jack had turned a blind eye to the childish verbal deliveries for too long. In 1987 he, the victim finally summoned the courage within himself to make a stand and refuse his crucial involvement in any activity or games the young fellows would play. Confronted with a new reality, the older boys realised that this fine young human specimen had more power and courage than was believed. Respect was given and young Jack began to shine.
